‘Working from thoughts and memories, Issy has begun to interpret identities and groupings of people through large scale drawings. The forms and thoughts merge and react as the drawing unravels, implying a rambling narrative reminiscent of memories.
Her work is a process of recollection. The forms become responsive to the materials and process of making. The imagined and unconscious thoughts are realised as drawn images, appearing fluid and illusive as memories merge, the drawn marks becoming their language. A sense of community emerges.’
