Travellers I
2021
24.5 x 28 x 3 cm
Oil and acrylic on cardboard
“Part of an ongoing body of work begun in 2019 reflecting on climate change and the precarious state of life on our planet. Back then watching the reports about the Australian bush fires I began to wonder what an extraterrestrial visitor to our planet might think of our neglect. Since the pandemic I have begun to see these travellers as well wishers, each individual figure painted on cardboard is talismanic, a symbol of good fortune. This trio travel to us in the spirit of collaboration and hope.”
